I love reading books. It’s definitely apart of my self care routine. Something about taking in knowledge that will better me in someway just “does it for me”! Whether a physical book or audio book I love learning new things. Here are a few reads that I absolutely loved and some that I am looking forward to reading. Please share more must reads in the comment with me!
Influencer- Brittany Hennessy
This was one of my first reads for the new year. Influencer marketing is fairly new and there is a lot to learn. Although I have a purpose for my blog, it is still a business. To make sure that I am aware of the business of blogging (which I am currently in), I just had to pick up this book. In this book, Hennessy, Senior Director of Influencer Strategy and Talent Partnerships at Hearst Magazines Digital Media informs us of the core influencer principles. Everything from audience engagement to pitching to a brand to monetizing your influence was covered. I encourage all bloggers and content creator to read this book!
Just Do Something- Kevin DeYoung
If you follow me on Instagram, you would know that I am currently reading this book with bae (hehe). One of the things that I am very interested in is Gods Will (as every believer should be). I feel that Gods will is often misunderstood and complicated to man. In this book DeYoung shares his pastoral wisdom and unfolds the unbiblical ways of understanding God’s will and constructs a simple but biblical alternative: live like Christ. He also reveals the frustrations of our waiting games and unfolds the freedom of finding God’s will in Scripture and then simply doing it. This book is against signs and wanders, magic and all other unblical actions that causes us to over-complicate Gods will. I’m still in the middle of reading this book, but I 100% recommend it!
Becoming- Michelle Obama
I meeeaaaan, Who isn’t reading this book? Michelle Obama is absolutely stunning, but that’s not my complete reason why for choosing this book as a must read. I love her story! I believe your story is the one thing people can’t take away from you and I am so inspired by her relatable background and the transition of her becoming first lady. I love her transparency thus far in the book and she isn’t afraid to share her low points as well. I can’t wait to finish this read on audible!
The 25 Biblical Laws of Success- William Douglas
My coworker told me about this book this week and I immediately looked it up on Christian Book for reviews. I believe that Christians aren’t always for entrepreneurship. Whelp, I believe that everything is covered in the bible including business. It is one of my dreams to be an entrepreneur. I had a online eCommerce business about 6 years ago and lost passion for it. I ended up making the decision to not renew the domain. This time, I want to truly be led in my business decisions and I believe this book goes through the biblical principles of success using scripture. It will definitely prepare me and no, it’s not prosperity gospel. I’ll be reading this soon!
Keep It Shut: What to Say, How to Say It, and When to Say Nothing at All – Karen Ehman
This book has been on my must read list for a while. Truthfully and being completely real, I always got in trouble when I was younger for my words. Thankfully, as a believer God has worked on me and I am more socially aware. I am now aware of what can make someone feel a way even if it’s unintentional. However God is still and will forever be working on ya girl! I heard this read is amazing and life changing. I’ll keep you updated on how it was on the gram!
Keep fighting…daily :).
