LuvMe Hair Wet and Wavy Headband Wig, 20″ , $219
So the summer is officially here and I know we’re trying to live our best lives out in these streets! With more sun and longer days, comes vacations, new outfits and of course hair! LuvMe hair reached out to me to review their wet and wavy headband wig and I definitely had to jump on the bandwagon to see what the trend is all about. Whether you’re on YouTube, Pinterest or TikTok, headband wigs are talked about due to their versatility and how convenient they are all while protecting your hair.
I wore this headband wig for some time now and think I have a good idea of this unit and my overall thoughts.
Construction:
LuvMe hair describes their headband wigs as “beginner and lazy girl friendly”. The unit is comfortable, requires no glue, and can be installed in just seconds. The wig has 4 clips in total (3 at the top and one larger clip at the bottom) to secure the wig in place. In addition to the clips, the headband has a velcro closure to ensure the wig is going NOWHERE. You don’t have to worry about your unit lifting or shifting. To jazz it up a bit, LuvMe hair includes 5 different headbands in the box which makes it super easy to switch it up with different outfits.
In terms of color and texture, this wig came in a natural black color (close to 1B). This hair is human hair and can be straightened or worn curly. If you do straighten this hair, it does go back to it’s wavy texture which is perfect for the person who likes to switch it up. I noticed that the cap was extremely breathable and felt comfortable to wear daily. The density of this unit is perfect. It’s not too full and not too thin, which made it even more realistic. The hair wasn’t heavy at all, which I appreciated. The curls can easily be revived with water or if you want them to look super luscious, use conditioner and water. The curls on this unit were very hydrated and had a natural luster.
Maintenance:
I have 4C hair so maintenance wasn’t too bad with this unit, but you do have to lay your hair down in the very front when wearing this wig. My hair texture is on the coarse side, so it takes a bit more than brushing and using one edge control product. So I definitely won’t say you can plop on this unit and leave the house if you have similar hair texture like mine. Other than laying my hair down, I did revive the curls with water and conditioner every other day to keep the curls looking fresh. When wetting the hair, I did notice some shedding daily, but it wasn’t too crazy.
Pro’s:
- I love the texture of this hair. The hair on this unit isn’t cheap and it doesn’t tangle easily.
- The versatility is what I love. You can serve a ponytail one day, leave it down or wear some up and leave the rest down. It’s giving looks, okay!
- The maintenance is not time consuming, which is always a plus if you have a hectic schedule like mine.
- If you don’t like sleeping with hair or wigs, this unit is perfect. You can take it off each night and won’t feel restricted.
Cons:
- The only con I have is that I have to lay the front of my hair down. I would probably wear it for 2 weeks tops and then change it up to not over manipulate my hair.
Yay or Nay?
This unit is a yay for me. I love the texture (especially for summer) and the versatility. I would definitely recommend this hair due to the quality of the hair. If you try it, please let me know how you like it!
Until next time!
